Trio Cuerdas al Aire

João Luiz, Francisco Roldán and Ana María Rosado

The Trio Cuerdas al Aire is comprised of members of the Guitar Faculty at the Caroline L. Guarini Department of Music, Dance and Theatre of New Jersey City University. Francisco Roldán of Zig-Zag Quartet, a faculty member since 2011, and João Luiz of the acclaimed Brasil Guitar Duo, at NJCU since 2012, are both very active performers. The coordinator of the program and founding member of the trio, Ana María Rosado, at NJCU since 1989, also combines her teaching career with an active presence as a performer locally and internationally.

Cuerdas al Aire will be heard next as the featured performers on Guitar Night of the New Jersey Guitar and Music Society at Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair, on Thursday, May 12 at 7pm.

The trio had its official debut on the 2015 Guitar Seminar at Mannes/The New School College of Music to audience acclaim in a program of Latin American pieces as well as a premiere of a composition by member João Luiz.
